We settled into our new temporary home, pretty much a mirror of our own flat, in Sea opera 2 and Malcolm's first job was to set up his office. The flat was great but the windows badly needed cleaning. Even though we had moved from the 18th floor to the 6th we were still horrified when the window cleaner stepped out onto the ledge to clean the outside. No harness, nothing! We went weak at the knees.
We have been in limbo what with waiting to move into the house and coronavirus restrictions so have been exploring the area to break up the weeks. We discovered a great mall just outside Hadera, only 20 minutes away, with an extraordinary surfing pool, and spent a lovely evening in Cesarea.
Our nephew, who is coming to the end of his gap year came for a Shabbat. We had a lovely afternoon on the beach and in the sea, my first since arriving, although unfortunately we were badly stung by jelly fish. Three weeks later I still have the scar!
The square is still sadly relatively empty, although the fountains are still playing and Gila and I have enjoyed quality nail time together.
Zooming friends in the evening with a glass of wine has also helped to pass the time and I did a sponsored walk with Sharon Steel, from North Netanya to South.
I love swimming in the sea and have always wanted to be able to surf. It dawned on me that this was one activity not restricted by the virus and that I didn't need to wait until we had moved into the house to start having lessons. My first lesson was spent mainly on the beach and in subsequent lessons I spend more time in the water than on the board. During lesson number 2 I did manage to stand up a couple of times but in lesson number 3 I didn't get past kneeling. It has been challenging and exhausting but I intend to keep at it.
So a month which started relatively slowly has suddenly come to an end and we are packing up once more.
We are taking to the road and setting off for the North of Israel for the first leg of our road trip ending up in Jerusalem at the Kanterovitz's for the last few days of August. As we travel the country we hope to visit wineries, museums, art galleries - virus restrictions permitting, and do plenty of hiking. We have lots of books and our swimming costumes so as long as the hotels stay open we'll be fine. We are set to move into the house on 31st August!

I love seeing your post with such great detailed pictures. as for the surfing I am totally impressed! I have just done bit myself down in Cornwal
I look forward to seeing your journey
